You'll be able to push the kits harder on 24x for sure, but we hve a member here making 600+ rwhp on boost with a stock PCM reliably... Its doable.

      No kidding, who?

And yes, the LT1 PCMs can be tuned with boost, RPM is the main limitation.

RPM isn't much of a concern with boost anyway so no big deal there! Cool, excited to get started!!! Now I just need a car…..

No not really any limitations with the stock computer. . They'll do Fine , problem is the lack of quality tuners and it's just 20 year old outdated technology. .. but with that being said there's plenty of guys on stock computers some still running a maf around 800 at the tire on boosted combos.. at some point may have to run a driver for the injectors, my buddy's ysi combo needed it. 24x or any computer for that matter makes tuning capabilities open up quite a bit. .. cool to see your giving the dinosaur platform some love if someone ever wanted a custom kit that stuck the snail in the bumper so the compressor side is sticking out do you have to drop the car off or not sure ?

Yeah something like that would need to be built on the car. However if you can drop the car off, it can happen no problem!

What would you need just the block and heads put on the car so you could mock up the hotside? Or would you want a complete assembled motor...

Popo on here is at 600 ar the tire on obd1.. Moe Bailey is north of 700 on straight pump gas on obd1 threw a maf. It can be done... but if it fails you still have that dreaded opti to blame at least

I'd also be curious on who's going to be tuning it. Dr phil doesn't touch lt1's does he? Would there be any benefit having sd va maf?

More complete the car is, the better the job can get done to fit around all components you have in/on the car.

I've been told Dr. Phil will only do LT1s with 24x

Thats exactly why I was wondering about a 24x kit with the turbo. I think it would make it easier to tune?
