WTB Winter Beater. Please help!

Hey guys, my dad is finally at the point where he needs a new car. He has been driving this hyundai accel thing and its about to die. Price range is $1000 tops. Needs to run/ drive with little maintenence going in. He would prefer something thats good on gas yet has some hauling capacity. Trans doesn't matter, the accent is a manual and he likes that. Doesn't need to be pretty or go fast, just needs to be somewhat reliable and fuel efficient. Thanks guys I hope we can find something for him.

I have an 87 Cutlass Ceira for sale. $850 o.b.o. Runs and is a little rusty. It gets up and moves but the speedomter and gas gauge don't work. Probaly just a ground or something. Huge ass trunk, 4 doors, auto. Around 150,000 miles. Color is white. Has a new raditor fan motor and battery. If your interested I'll get some pics and what not.
