  • $4000 tow vehicle

My mom and I are looking for a vehicle for her that can tow her 17' boat on the weekends and can also get her good mpgs to the store etc. during the week. She has been looking at older jeep cherokees and explorers. Post up what you have or if you know of anything around town. Looking under $5k and newer than 1999 if possible. Thanks

Honestly jeeps dont get good milage. Newer trucks do but not cheap. Gotta decide whats needed. A boat that small probly could be draged behind a jeep. Station wagon. I think a guy on here had a silverado forsale not long ago. Might wanna check it out.

Jeeps have the worst suspension for towing. I pull my 18ft boat, and cars all the time with my s10 blazer no problem.

I looked at an older dodge ram magnum but he said t oonly got like 16 mpg. Something that does 20 would be good. How's the s10 blazer on gas?

I would be surprised if that truck got 16mpg downhill with a tailwind...

Word.....my old 96 K2500 with the 6.5 would get 15 mpg no matter what you hooked to it or how fast or where you drove.

My s10 blazer gets 16-17 city. Your not going to find anything for under 10 grand that gets 20 mpg and pulls a boat man.

Look for a clapped out 300K mile 2WD 12 valve cummins. 20+ MPG, cheap, reliable

Unless you buy a 1991-1996 Buick Roadmaster or Chevy Caprice with a 5.7. They both have a towing capacity of 5000lbs.
