  • Convertible top part

    See photo below:

There are two of these. They connect the forwardmost bow of the top to the frame work. I need both sides. Please let me know if you have these, know someone who does, or can point me to a 93-02 vert. part-out. Thank you.

There's a part-out for you, can you get them from a Dealer? I've had to buy a few 'vert parts from the dealer.

I was looking at the parts website for Jim Fresard Buick-GMC here in town, and it seems like they have a lot of the fasteners, but the rods and bows are not all available. If you could come up with a part number, I could check it out.

I'm just curious -- what happened to the ones on your car?

Also, regarding the part-outs like to the one above, it seems like a lot of places don't want to break up a useable working folding top, so you may be stuck buying the whole thing. Sometimes you can find a car with a damaged top, but there's no guarantee that the parts you need weren't messed up in the process.

It may have been a year ago, but I remember Cleveland Pick-A-Part has a Trans Am vert with a messed up roof, but I don't remember how badly it was wrecked. You may want to contact them through their website and check it out -- they always have 4th Gen F-Bodies coming in.

One side went missing at some point (not sure how) and after prolonged use without the one side the other that was there got tweeked out of shape. Makes opening and closing the top a pain without them. Since I rarely have the top up it never mattered much to me but now that I'm tring to get all the little things fixed to sell the thing I'm hoping to get this fixed too.

They have a couple of verts listed in their photo inventory.
