  • WTB: Cheap 4 CYL Car or Truck

I am in need of something to drive in the winter, and to and from school.
I won't let myself put the Camaro through another winter after all of the work I have just done to the underbody, with that being said I am looking to pick up any American Made 4 CYL car or truck
Mostly looking for a dohc Saturn, 2.2l S10 but will concider anything.

I would like something needing some work, I can only get about $750 up front, so something that needs work maybe best.

Let me know what you've got or of any leads.
    Thanks, John

I've got a dohc Saturn that I'm going to be looking to sell in about a month and a half. Perfect winter beater, I average about 32 mpg with it and it already has snow tires on it! Gonna need a little more than 750 though, high gas prices keeps the value of these up

Why are you calculating your average speed?

Those SL cars are great! "Just add oil and check the gas!"
I have looked into buying one a few times.

My friend's got two SW2's which are the same thing, and my girlfriend has an L200, Saturn makes nice cars.

The L200 is a decent car but over engineered in my opnion. I wouldn't say saturns are nice, I would say they are a simple efficiant vehicle.

If your looking for milage the 2.2 S10 is not a good choice. I had a 04 S10 2.2./auto and back in the day when 2.00 for a fortune for fuel! I rarely got over 20 mpg.

I'd rather get a the Saturn, but even that 20mpg is better then my Camaro, and I won't feel bad about driving it in the winter. I know what you mean about that L200 being over engineered, my girlfriend pretty much stole in though. She got it from a family friend for $500. The car is very clean 140,000 miles runs and drives nice, it just needed a few little things.

I'd like to find a clean SL2 or SC2 needing a little work, they seem to be quite a bit cheaper. I just won't have enough cash upfront, but I would to fix it when I got the time.

Save some money between now and September and buy mine. You're not too far off what is like to get for it
