  • WTB 3.42 LSD Rear end

    hey guys,

I am looking for a limited slip diff for my v6 firebird. The open diff in mine is killing my times and 1 tire in the autocross. Other than the tires, it is the current weakest link in my car. If anyone has one lying around, let me know and I'd like to take it off your hands. I currently have a 3.08 I think in it. Came stock with the a4 trans. Nothing too high as it is a 5 speed and I don't want to kill my gas mileage on the highway.

edit: 3.23 gears would be fine as well. Just has to be LSD.

Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere.

For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day, you shall have a track day, a Sabbath of competing, to time the FIREBIRD; whoever does any work on it shall be put in last place.

For what its worth i had a 99 3.8 5 speed car with 3.23s and it still got a consistent 30-32 mpg highway. good luck with your search.

yes. I was at Belle Isle as well for the season opener. I am classed in E Street Prepared because of a couple mods. I just compare my times to other firebirds and camaros.

I talked to a guy at the autocross who races a yellow camaro and he recommended an auburn rear end. I am on a tight budget with school tuition and bills and still trying to fund my racing addiction . The 4.10 will kill my gas mileage since this is my daily driver (for now ) I'll get in contact with you when I have the funds to purchase the 3.23.

Yesterdays autocross was really bad with my car. I was off by 3 seconds from a V6 Mustang in front of me (with tires that aren't shot and an lsd) Pretty much trying to power out of every corner I kept spinning the right rear wheel and not really going anywhere throughout the entire course.
