2nd gen manual set up

My Nephew has a 72 Formula, and is looking to make it a 5 speed.

Anyone or any one know of someone selling a 2nd gen pedal set up, council, and transmission.
That would be great. We already have a bell housing to bolt to a Pontiac motor.

Any help that would be great!

i know a guy that took a t5 out of a newer firebird and just made an adapter to fit the bell-housing i dont no if that something you guys wanna try??

not to sounds like a noob - but I've never heard the term "maula" before. I assume it means "manual" in some fashion? ooooor is it possible that you just typed "manual" too quickly? lol

My son has a nice 2nd Gen clutch pedal assembly with brake pedal. I think he wanted $50 for it.

let me know Greg. He really wants to put a 4 or 5 speed in it. Worst case is we can snag it at the meet and greet. I told him to get his butt registered on here lol!

I am coverting mine from a 4spd to a t56 6spd, for the entire kit sent to my door they are asking $3700

That actually isn't too bad of a price as long as you git everything. It is kind of nice to be able to call and talk to someone about any issues.

I did a t56 swap from a 95 Z28 into my 82 Z28. Remember, you will need an adapter flywheel if you are going to bolt a t56 to an older SBC. I missed that and didn't cost in the $300 steel flywheel. I would just recommend reading a lot. Do a ton of research. I am new at this site but been around a lot of cars. I would think the meet and great would be a great place to touch base with other 2nd gen folks that have had that same idea or even already made the swap on their cars. I would say anything is possible but you might want to plan on an extra $300-$500 for any unforeseens. Besides, if all goes well you will have extra cash for the next upgrade. On big projects like my trans and my two motor builds I got myself into trouble each time by not planning things out well enough. I will say, the older the easier. My 82 is running a late 70's motor was a lot easier job than some of the late model projects on this board. Good luck and give it a shot. You, probably more him in this case, won't learn unless you give it a try. I can tell you what all I did for my third gen.
