Don't need anything fancy, 100 gb hard drive and 1 gig of ram would probably be fine. Let me know if you have anything

What are you looking to spend? I have a newer Dell Netbook that I could part with. I dont know if your interested in a netbook or if you wanted a fill blown bigger laptop. However new off brand netbooks are cheap too, something to look into! Mine is a Dell Mini 10

I'd rather have a laptop because I need a drive in it. I need it for tuning software.

they make USB drives. I'd personally prefer a netbook for that application as long as it has the right ports because the battery usually lasts way longer. up to you though!

Yeah it does not have a cd drive or anything like that, it does have 2 maybe 3 USB ports tho?

Yeah the battery life is like 6 hours or something like that on the netbook.

I am not sure what they go for let me look it up tonight with the model number and such and let you know.

A external CD drive would work to load the software if you have the cd if not you could download it of course.

Yeah most netbooks get 4-6 hours of use. You would just need a USB external disk drive.

While this posting is up, I am also interested in a cheap laptop/netbook. Only need it for web surfing and email while at work. Will be plugged it all the time so will even consider one with a crappy battery if its cheap enough.

Netbook? Does it have XP? I don't know what OS Tuner cats will work with. I have a 17 inch Toshiba laptop but its basically the big block of the computer world, about an hour of battery life.

You could always look into getting an extended battery life for your Toshiba laptop and also change the settings to conserve battery life.
