I would go 9" either way (auto or stck) because its stronger and doesnt cost anymore. Plus parts are more readily available.

I agree 100%. It's hard to beat all the aftermarket stuff available for the 9". That's why I went that route too...plus I have a 6 speed sooo it only made more sense. I also like how easy it is to assemble a 9" and adjust if need be. I've already pulled the pinion support out twice since I installed the rear to play around with pinion depth.
