  • Need a 4l60e converter

    I am in need of a 4l60e converter for lt1,looking for something in the range of 3200-3600...I bought what was supposed to be a brand new converter,put it in yesterday and it was junk..Now the guy wont answer his phone..pm for faster response.I wish I would have kept the car a 6 spd..

    Can you get in touch with Ridings? He could probably get you a decent converter in that RPM range.

      Did you fill it before installing it onto the shaft? What are the symptoms?

        No, I installed it dry..per Ridings insturctions,thats what he told me to do when I installed the one I got from him,that went in my buddys z...Its making a woooshing sound..From past experience I have had with another converter,this one is no good

          Let me get a hold of my trans guy. I believe the one I ordered is still with him. Wouldn't fit my car (V6), but will go right into an 8. I believe it's somewhere around 3k or better.

            Cool,without giving my specs out on my cam,Ridings wanted me to go with atleast 3400-3600

              I find it strange he wanted it installed dry, thats the first time I've ever heard that. I always though installing it dry would cause the pump to burn up.

                I could've sworn he told me to install mine full of fluid. That way you don't have to worry about how long it takes the trans fluid to get to the converter.

                          mike there ALWAYS supposed to be installed with fluid.
