  • Wanted: 4th gen remotes

I need remotes for a '96-up car. I'd also like them to be in good shape (as in the print isn't worn off the buttons). Anybody got some that I can get?

(Mods, I accidentally posted this in the wrong section. Can you move it to wanted for me? thanks)

I have one I need to get rid of. Bought it off of some guy on LS1tech, he was selling a whole lot of them. Didn't work with my car but I'm guessing it's probably already got 4 programmed to it.

can't you just take the remote to a dealer and have them program it for you?

Maybe, I don't know if they'd even touch mine. Anyway I'm pretty sure they use the same procedure that I tried.

Just go to your nearest dealer and buy one off them brand new for like twenty five bucks I believe and have them program it for you. So much easier and it will last longer than someones used one anyways

that's all they cost? I'd probably get a good GM discount too...I should look into that.

PM me with your VIN -- we can check to see if we can still get it from Service Parts/Customer Car & Aftersales. If it's available from the Pontiac warehouse, it'd be sweet. A lot of slower-moving stuff goes through Lansing though.

when we bought our 01 suburban two years ago my dad took it to the dealer to buy some parts and while he was there he asked the guy about the remote and he was like what you mean this? I'll have to ask him later tonight about the price but I seem to remember it was something like that.

Yeah, I'm sick of manually locking and unlocking my doors. If I use the power lock then manually unlock my car, I have about 7 seconds to get in and start the car before the alarm goes off lol.
