Went down to the burn survivor show yesterday and the trans is taking forever to shift almost like its starting to slip. its the stock trans from 92 with almost 170k on it. so im not putting it past the bands and everything starting to slip. so what does everyone have. im just seeing what options i have for (the unwanting problem) incase the trans goes out or what i can have sitting in the garage waiting. or even if someone has a trashed trans i could get to a shop to rebuild. OR someone who has or will rebuilt a 700 before. if you dont know the trans or how to rebuild one please dont offer to rebuild mine. this is a daily driver and will be all over the country as i go from station to station. so i need to know its good. so please whatever you have sitting in the garage lemme know please

Have you tried adjusting the kickdown cable at the throttle linkage? Mine was shifting slow, a friend adjusted the kickdown cable for me, it shifts MUCH better now. . .Originally posted by 1slo_camaro View PostNick H.

Steve- Im honestly afraid to mess with a trans to be honest. no knowledge of them so i odnt wanna tear into them to much.

ok guys so its official. my trans is shot. and unless i can find a hell of a deal im out of the M&G in a week and a half.
i lost overdrive and 3rd and im not making the trip out in just 2nd the whole time lol. a shop quoted me 800 to rebuild it and i bring it to them. i really dont trust buying a used trans just cause of the past ive had with them but im starting to consider it. i know im asking alot but i dont have over 100 bucks to spend on it. so if anyone knows someone trust worthy with a working trans for under 100 bucks. let me know please and ill pick it up.

We made a deal for a 85 camaro 700r4 I have in my polebarn for 150 bucks, 50 down so dave can afford to come get it and put it in, and the other to be paid off by july 15th I think.. so he can make the M&G , so he will be up and runnign in no time..

For anyone who still looks at this lol i got the trans from Jesse and in 2.5 hours had my old one pulled last night sucked cause the girl had to be out of the station by 10
or my car would my driving right now (car is at the shop at my base) but im heading out around 11 to get back there and throw this trans in. everyone cross your fingers and pray everything goes as smooth going in as it did coming out.
