  • WTB 3.8L 3800 Series II Connecting Rods Non SC

    Hi,

Looking to purchase a set of good 3.8L Series II connecting rods.
I need them for a FWD application, 97-2000 3.8L Non Supercharged.
    My castings are a #669.

    Looking to purchase soon.
    Please forward me your price.
I am a cash buyer. I have a set of Supercharged 3.8L Rods that I'll trade if you want them.

    PM Me here.
    Thanks

GM parts direct should have some. Good luck finding some, hopefully I will never have to get them

They're about $50 per rod according to my dealer.

We used to be able to get core motors for $50, but they've all been scrapped with the cash for clunkers program. Whatever I pay, I have to add on about $150 for re-conditioning, so I'm trying to keep it cheap.

I'll have to double check the lengths on my rods and compare the part numbers in their catalog.

The L36's used two different lengths of bolts - ARP offers both, but you have to measure your existing bolts to match them with the rods.

I plan on buying the bolts from ARP - they were around $50, which isn't bad for an upgraded Torque to Yield bolt.

When your machinist tells you that you can re-use these bolts - run. Run Far away from him!

Update: These are what my 2010 book is showing.
            ARP Bolts Pro Series:
            1.500" UHL - 123-6001
1.700" UHL - 123-6002 (Which is what your link above is)

Are these L36 Rods? (Non supercharged 3.8L rods)
              I wouldn't need the pistons.

I bought a set of 3.8L Supercharged HD rods for $58. Theyre too short, so I would hope to find a good standard 3.8L set for around $50
If I cant find a set, I'll probably list the new parts on here and scrap the rest.

technically they're L26 rods, the NA 3800 Imps (04/05) got L26 bottom ends w/ the L36 top ends. There is no difference in the dimensions of the L36 & L26 rods, supposedly the L26 rods/pistons are stronger b/c they went to a different coating on them, but I have yet to verify that.

Could've warned you on the L67 rod purchase though, the L37/32 engines are ~8.5:1 compression the L36/26 has ~9.4:1 and its due to the shorter rods
