  • WTB: rear seat screws

I want to buy the 2 little screws that hold down the back seats in a 96 Formula. Mine didn't come with them and my back seats are all over the place. Or if someone knows where I can order them from or what the thread size is so that I can go pick up a set.

If theyre the same as the ones in the third gen, I have several of them. I'll check when I get home tonight, I'll pull one out of my 98 to compare.

If he dosnt have them I would just go to home depot, only problem is youll need one to see what size you need, a dealership will be crazy for them I bet.

This sounds like a set-up for a bad joke, but I can't resist:

"OK, so how do you screw in a back seat anyway?"

But seriously, I've never had the back seats out of either my 3rd Gen or my current 4th Gen. How do you get to those things, and how many fasteners per cushion? I have a feeling I could really freshen my car up if I could get back there and clean out the last owner's collection of animal hair, Marlboros, spilled coffee, etc.

Joke part was quite funny! Even tho we should all know how to screw in a back seat (either way)! lol!

ONe screw per bucket, can't tell you what size they are ...but if they're moving around that much you need to stop drivin so crazy! lol! Just take em out, 6litereater.com has a nice set up for deleting the backseat.

Pulled one out, I don't seem to have another screw in my box that is the same size, so they must have changed at some point. I'll stop by Autozone today and check the thread, let you know what it is.

Thanks. I know I could probably just pick them up at a hard ware store, but I don't have one to compare them too.

Back seats are staying because my 3 year old loves riding in the bird.

No problem, I'm in no hurry. Does AutoZone carry the bolts?

The one I was at had them. They were a little different than the original ones, silver instead of black, and didnt have the flange on the head, but i would assume they will work.

As long as the thread is the right size I'll just put a washer on them. Thanks!
