you could probably find a complete one for like 275.. I think its like 125 bucks or so for gears and install kit, maybe less, its been a while since I bought my gears new. You can sometimes find them used for like 75 bucks?

Intriguing.....That would serve my purpose more so than buying a completely new rearend for $2000. It's a relatively easy swap as well isn't it?

i upgraded to 3.73's and it was a nice lil bump in accelleration.....i have a 6 speed and i will more than likely upgrade to a better rearend once i start modding my car up nicely...but for now...3.73's are doing just fine.

maybe a 4th gen is different? I had to update my carrier so when I installed 3.73's it was rather $$$$$
I had a stock series 2 carrier and had to update to a series 3.
I still love the 3.73's in my car though, well worth the $$.

In the 4th Gens you have to get a 3 series carrier also

agreed. dont tamper with them. bolt on some strength if you want (girdle, gussets) but otherwise run them as they are.
