Check ebay and local yards, the 5.3s can be had for less than 400.

How much are you looking to spend and what exactly do you want...ie; bare block...block w/rotating assembly...

I want a lift out complete engine-everything fan back, intake to oil pan, engine harness and ecu. Local junkyard has 5.3 with 60,000 on for $1250.00 I don't know if this is high or not.

I wouldnt pay a dime over 500. I picked mine up for 300. Just a reminder, both intake and oil pan are useless to you. I would also look for an ls1 computer you can have tuned, the truck computer needs to be COMPLETELY restructured to work in a car(I did it in my car, you just have to find someone with the ability and will to do so for you). You also want to stay 2002 or older, in 03 they switched to the 58x reluctor wheel and ignition system, vs 24 in previous years.

5.3 swap seems to be getting more and more popular

Ive got a big thread on here about the whole thing, as well as a thread with all my track videos. More to come this winter as well, but I havent revealed any of that yet. Just do a search for threads started by yours truly.

I followed your thread it was very good, there is another member who just did one in a 89 Camaro. Forgot his SN though. Did you get yours fixed from the problems you were having?

                        What problem would this cause?

The LS computers in f bodys read only 24X reluctor wheels, you would either have to disassemble the entire motor and have it swapped or buy a converter box from lingenfelter. Also an LQ4 is a 6.0 truck block.

If I am using the computer from the same vehicle what would be the problem, I am not trying to be a pain in the *ss but I don't understand. I understand about the accessories and intake being to high without a cowl hood and the oil pan.

I checked ebay and the only ones lower in price were well over 100,000 miles and then I would have to pay for shipping.

If your using the same computer you have nothing to worry about. Try local junk yeard instead of ebay you should have better luck there.
