  • need tranny for 97 2500 silverado 4x4

    dad is thinking he needs one. is it a 700r4 still? i dont think its the 4l60e?? i dont know but if anyone has one let me know. thanks

    I'm gonna guess 4L80e, that's what my 2500 has. What motor?

      Yeah, thats what im thinking as well. Big blocks deff got the 80, but i believe some 350s got the 4l60e. All trucks after 93? went to the 4l60 from the 700r4. Eric L

        i believe he just replaced the stock 350 with a crate 350 from the dealership

          2500HD and 3500 has the 4L80E but i believe just the 2500 has a 4l60e

            for 200, i would try to find a blown trans myself and rebuild it, or just rebuild the trans thats in there, you can buy a rebuild kit for 150 from D&E and have it rebuilt and running in a few days taking your time, but if you have never done this before make sure you get a service manual for the 4l60e. I would give you a hand but im heading out to washington in a few hours
