Alright, so I know I have asked this before, but I have finally came to the realization that I will not have my car much longer. I am going to fix it, and I am going to sell it. I am looking for a decent LT1-LS1 F-Body, 4th gen preferably, must be a V8. Trans doesn't matter, low miles if available, and I'm looking to spend less than $7500. I'm trying to get an idea of what I should buy, as I am not taking out a loan to buy it. I am saving up every dime I can until I can afford to buy the car of my dreams. If you can find me an LT1 with less than say, 100k, nothing mechanical wrong with it, maybe in need of a good detailing in the interior and some dent repair on the exterior, that would be awesome! Anyone interested in my Camaro? I'll sell for $1200 as is, or about $2k after I repair the rear end. I'm not repainting it. Maybe some touchup, but I'm not repainting a car I'm not gonna keep. Let me know guys! Angie, I know this is a challenge, but I think you're up for it. . . . lol I want to be in a V8 Camaro or Firebird by the end of this year! I'll even take a 3rd gen if the body is near perfect and it has a 350 and T-Tops or convertible.

$7500 is a good amount to work with. you will easily be able to fine a nice LT1 car. shit my buddy just sold his 96 for $6,000 and it was pretty much mint. with $7500 you actually might be able to find a less decent LS1 Z28 too!1998 Camaro SS Bullseye Turbo

I would love a 97+ SS, but I know I won't find one cheap. I don't have $7500, I just want some idea of how much cash I need to pull out of my a** to buy a fast car. I'm gonna be saving for a while, and whatever I come up with from the sale of my 'maro is going towards it also. If I can't get a SS, I'll do the SS conversion. I want a beautiful car, and the engine must make beautiful power, you know? lol Even a T/A or Formula would be pretty awesome. I'm partial to the Camaros, but I'll drive a Firebird. They're both equally awesome in my eyes. If I must drive a Firebird, I would prefer a 98-02.Nick H.

Remember, you'll want some mods too... I sold my 94 TA that had 66k, every mod possible minus inside engine work for 5000 last summer, that car was in pretty damn good shape too. Find a nicely modded LT1 car and you'll be happy!!
Never know though, you COULD find an LS1 for 7500 somewhere (might be ragged on pretty heavily though).

With that much cash it shouldn't be too difficult to find a V8 Fbody car. I know a 97 (Camaro) for 6995 with 109k, a 2000 for 9995, both black, and a 96 silver TA with 83k for 5995. They are all in NY area. I bought my car from there, he seems pretty honest, I asked him to throw in the 3yr/45k mile aftermarket warranty so at least if something major goes wrong, you won't have a huge out of pocket expense. Let me know if you're interested. But then again, 4th gen V8 Fbody aren't that hard to find, especially if you're willing to travel south, I would to buy a more rust free car

Thanks a lot, guys! I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled. I found a 94 Z28 with a bad trans (I have an extra tranny for an LT1) for about $3000. There are a lot of deals to be found. I'm determined to get a V8 by the end of the year, and I'm paying for the car, plates, and insurance, all on my own. It's gonna be great, because my dad and I got into an argument, I hopped in my car and left, and he called my cell and threatened to report the car stolen. I have nothing I can call my own, so I am going to do this. I am going to get a more badass car than anything my dad ever has given me, and I'm gonna pay for it on my own. I'm gonna sell the V6 Camaro and pay my dad back everything he payed for it, and I'll still have almost a grand left to buy my new ride. Keep the options coming, guys! I like the 3rd gens, but I need something fast and reliable.Nick H.

Except I'm 18, I am quitting my job next week, I have overdrawn my checking account 2x in the last 2 months, and I have no credit. Nobody will give me a loan without a cosigner. My parents won't cosign, because they won't help me pay at all. Do you want to cosign on a loan? Didn't think so.Nick H.

Wow that sounds like a hell of a deal. How about you get Nick some more info so he can be well informed. Thanks!!!Originally posted by RSGOh, well I didn't know that. I can't cosign since I'm only 17, lol. I do work at a bank though. You could probably take a 5k loan out and pay the rest by yourself while only paying around around $120-140 a month. I could hook you up, lol.
Good luck Nick. Someday you'll have that car. This year? We'll see.Last edited by phoenix_rising; June 22nd, 2006, 06:32 PM.
