  • need 91-92 hatch motor

need hatch motor from 91/92 with plastic housing.

Mine broke and it's stuck in the up position. I either need a used one, or one without a motor in it. (or tell me how to get it down.) How would I get my hands on one without a motor?

Also -- apparently there's a plastic housing one and a metal housing one. I'm not sure, but I think mine is plastic. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Here's a pic

Thanks! Mine doesn't have a remote, but I just need the motor and housing, not the whole assembly. There seems to be a couple different motors and assemblies.
I read somewhere that half-way through '91 they switched to a different housing... but on ebay they have listed "86-92"..."82-92"... on different ones. How am I supposed to know if it's gonna fit??!

Shoot a question to the seller and confirm with them.

I bought a used one for my 1992 camaro off of a 1986 camaro and it worked just fine, but all I replaced was just the motor. If that helps you any!

you didn't replace the housing? I found a motor for $23 on ebay... that could work.

                    Just a question?

Can you delete the motor and just keep the latch system and shut the trunk like a normal?

Not without putting in a non-power latch in it's place...

Yes that's all I replaced in my car, as long as you have everything else and still in good shape that should work for you.

This is correct its either the power motor or a regular latch without the power option.

I'll go ahead and buy just the motor then. That'll work.

You know, if might not be broke...mine got stuck in the up position, I just hit the position "button" and it worked it's way back to the start position and worked fine afterwards...
