with all of the laser and instant on radar guns.. a radar decector is more of an annoyance than a useful tool.

    Mine is collecting dust.. haha

Depends where you live, where I live I have NEVER been lasered. The o'l KA always happens though. Seems like cops are looking for seatbelts more than speeding these days. I live in BFE though. I love my radar

Hey guys, he's asking whether any of us know where to get one, not whether we think they're necessary.

That said, I've honestly always gone with the $50-$70 model radar detectors. Cobra, for example, has always been reliable enough for me.

I have a Valentine 1 and would not trust anything less. Tickets, points, and increased insurance would pay the difference from a cheap one to a good one very quickly. Gotta love the arrows.

I've got a Cobra. It cost $200 when I got it but now you can get it for like $80. I really don't need it though considering I really don't screw around too much anymore. But I'd check out deals online to be honest. You can prolly find some good deals.

Best way to go is not by getting a radar/laser detector but a radar/laser jammer. Im one of the few that use them and let me tell you Ive never had a problem with it. It works great. Ive been on the highway and past a cop doing 90 and didnt get pulled over on top of the 10-20 over in city sometimes and never have had a ticket when Ive drove with it. Phazer radar jammer ftw!

Id sell my Phazer for the right price. It comes with a radar detector (k, ka, x, laser, etc I believe its a 9 band) which plugs into the side of the jammer (optional) Its in great shape. Like I said never have had a ticket since using it. Paid $250 about 1 1/2 ago. Make me an offer if interested. Probably like $120 for it or so.

Except radar Jammers are completely illegal! Radar detectors are not illegal to use or to have but a Jammer is! Although it is hard to catch you having one on your car, just think about driving down a open highway at 2am only one on the road and a cop is off to the side running his radar. Magically the radar jams and your the only one around! You'll get popped for it and get a heftier ticket then you probably would have had in the first place.

Actually I know there are a lot of people who say they are illegal, there are some that they they are leagal. As well as some say they work, and some say they dont work.
Well with hands on owning this I can say its worked for me many times. Ive also talked to my girlfriend grandmother who is a Police officer here in Portage, Mi and she said they are legal. I guess it depends on your view. Ive used mine and never had a problem being hasseled by the police here. My last ticket was the only time I ever drove my Formula without my Jammer...

i got one for my commute to college, one lane roads with cornfields on both sides. Worked great for that application, however ive been hit with laser in the city and got tickets. All depends on where you drive!

I too have had good luck with the Cobra, but I dont speed unless I am on the highway, and I have decent eyes anyways. I also dont speed at night.

I have some POS that I bought off of Detroitmuscle when he got his V1 for $20 bucks. It works alright and really helps out when your on the highway.

I was hit with laser on my way back up to school yesterday tho. Good thing I was only going 75 in a 70 and didn't get pulled over.
