Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

I don't really want to stall it.
It's a TRUE DD and I like my MPG's and my trans temp to be low
I was thinking something 224/224 camwise
Ok. A cam is going to lower your MPG more than a converter. A converter will only lower your MPG in the city where a cam is going to lower it everywhere.
Its a good idea to use a trans cooler on a stock trans let alone one with a converter. Throw a cooler or 2 on there and even with a converter you are going to see near stock temps.
Last but not least your car is most likely going to be faster with Bolt ons and a converter than it will with no converter and a cam.
hes not trying to mislead you in any way but lets be honest here, a cam swap with all the necessary things like springs, oil pump, timing chain, gaskets ect. is the same cost as a good converter and cooler any day. You NEED to realize that a cam'd car with a stock stall will be a dog PEROID! You are gonna raise the powerband of the car and it will take it longer to get there until it pulls any harder than stock so its stupid and pointless without a converter. Mike is right about milage also, the converter will affect city milage just the same as a cam and highway will be better with a converter. As for cams that are stock converter "friendly" they are not even worth the swap IMO, but you do what you wanna do were only trying to help you out

it is undisputable that a coverter is going to be the better option for a straight line car, however this is a DD. for a daily driver i would rather have a small cam and stock stall than a stall and no cam. I think a converter will drink more gas than a cam, just look at the difference in mileage between an M6 and a stock A4
a small cam is going to have no trouble getting off the line and if it does itll make it back up everywhere above 15 mph.
I know a guy with a 2.73s, and a LT1 with a 224/230 cam and a stock converter. it does dog off the line, but its not as bad as everyone plays it off to be, and it definitely still wins races.
all that said, this is a wanted thread - lets help him find the things he wants.
if you don't do a conveter you can do a ls6 cam or the cheater cam from thunder but wouldnt go with anything bigger... even if u do the 224 cam get a 3200 stall.... just do the exhuast and put the 3200/3600 stall in your car and see how you like it...
