  • Front sway bar mounts and bolts

    Hey guys -

I'm looking to install my front sway bar (thanks again meissen!) and need the two brackets and bolts that holds the front sway bar to the k-member since they were missing when I bought the car. I have the poly endlinks and can probably get the poly center mounts as well but could really use the brackets that hold the bushing plus the mounting bolts.

If anyone's got 'em or know where to go let me know, I'd like to get the bar on this weekend. thanks!

Generally you would use the original brackets but I don't know where you would get them from??

Maybe some one has some extra?

Hey Neil, disregard my PM I just sent you - I thought you meant just the bushings. Reading your post here just made me realize you meant the bolts.

I'm sure someone will have some. Most people do the exact opposite of what you're doing.

X2 on the dealer, sometimes if there nice enough they'll just tell you the bolt specs and you can take it to a place like mid-state and pick it up WAY cheaper.

Thanks guys - stealer says the following:

              - No stock til monday.
              - $7 each bolt
              - $18 each bracket

Total cost over $60. no thanks would rather put that towards an aftermarket bar.

Looking for someone who did an upgrade and have the OEM stuff laying around for cheap. Anyone know the bolt specs? Otherwise I'll just buy an assortment of metric sizes.

And if anyone knows of a Z28 being parted out let me know as I could probably pull the needed parts off it.

Thanks Sman that makes it a little easier, i didn't realize that. If you have the spec that would be appreciated. Otherwise, I can purchase the nuts to determine the thread, then buy matching bolts.

I found "universal" kits from energy suspension for bushing/bracket kits but only up to the 28.5mm. Only $20 complete at autozone. Prolly too tight for my application tho.

Thought this would be an easy find...guess not.
