  • In need of a DD!!!

So I up and took my DD to a mechanic since I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it...got the call today, apparently the crank shaft broke. No wonder I couldn't find the problem...

Anyways, I need a car! Who's got one around $1000 or less. Don't care what it is as long as it get's decent mpg and runs good. Let me know what you got, thanks.

1990 Nissan Maxima, 174k mi The mechanic said it would prolly be cheaper to drop another enigine in it than fixing it, but I'm not goin to waste that kind of time on that car.

Thanks for looking out everybody. Just picked up my new beater...

Sorry no pics, was too sunny and couldn't get a good shot. It's not exactly what I was originally looking for but it's goin to be fun anyways.

'88 Ford F150 has a body lift, couple inches. Nice big tires. Big 460 motor, not exactly fuel efficient but oh well. Got it real cheap, so I'll enjoy it.

I don't think it's that uncommon...especially if it's an automatic with higher miles.

The torque converter wears and starts to float around the crank...let it go for too long and ka-boom...
