Yeah, took a look there but I did not see anything in the west Michigan area that met the specs that I am looking for. Mostly older stuff with a posi rear instead of an open diff.

Look in some junkyards, I bought the last few good rear ends from V6 Camaros on craigslist.

Sorry and even then i had to get them rebuilt, you can get a trashed one for 100 or less, And have it rebuilt around 75-100 dollars

I am planning on installing a powertrax locker into the rear end and it can not be installed into a posi diff.

My axle still has some damage on it from the original acident and drum brakes prompting me to get a new axle. I would have thought that they would be fairly common with most people upgrading to posi.

I run a locker and I have no issues at all.

I have a rear in my garage that I would sell ya but it's not an open carrier.
Need's to be rebuilt & it's apart so it would be perfect.

                    I drove mine all over.
I bet I put over 2000 miles on it last year.
I do high-way with it too.

Dave, if you cannot find one you like, I have a posi rear waiting to go on my car which would free up the rear axle off my bird.

I have heard that a lot of lockers will make a bang noise, like a .22 gun going off, when going around turns. The powertrax locker has a lot of good reviews for not being as noisy. Most people have discribed it as a sound similar to a racheting action, that is if you even hear it at all.

I'll keep you in mind. When do you think you will have your swap done?

The reason I am asking is because my axle is so bad right now that I do not feel confortable driving it around in the condition that it is in. Hence the reason I am trying to find one as soon as possible.

The main issue with a locker, is that they unlock over 20mph. That gives you an open differential at 20+mph. It would be very easy to just blow the one tire loose at that speed.
