CDs are like cassette tapes anymore. Do you download your music and then burn them to a CD? If so, then it only makes sense to buy a USB thumb drive - seriously, a couple gigs for $20. Then you can put like 10 CDs worth of music on the thumb drive and plug it right into the head unit.

I love my Kenwood. Friend of mine use to have an Alpine and had lots of problems. But I know every company is 100%, but I've owned 3 different Kenwood head units over the years and not 1 problem.
I love my mp3 player for 1, no more skipping! and 2 I can carry my whole cd collection in my pocket.

I buy cds, I'm old-fashioned. I used to burn, but my computer's getting too old and too slow. MAN! I NEED TO UPGRADE MY LIFE!Originally posted by meissen View PostCDs are like cassette tapes anymore. According to our database, here are the speakers types that go in your PONTIAC FIREBIRD 1991 car, along with their location:- Front: 4" x 6", 5-1/4"
- Rear: 6" x 9"
- Dash: 4" x 6"
- Front door: 5-1/4"
- Rear side panel: 6" x 9"

I'm pretty sure there are only 6 speakers in a 3rd gen. 2 dash, 1 in each door, then 1 in each sail panel.

hmm..I thought there are 4.Originally posted by SoulTerror View PostI'm pretty sure there are only 6 speakers in a 3rd gen. 2 dash, 1 in each door, then 1 in each sail panel.
The front pass side and rear drivers side are blown, the rear pass goes in and out. The drivers front is the only one that works 100% of the time.
Maybe the other 2/6 are blown too... I didn't know there were any in the dash.

Like others have said, go with Alpine. I have the most basic model in my car and for 6 speakers I got them for $150 off www.crutchfield.com. I got these ones because pretty much all my speakers were crappy or blown when I bought the car and I just wanted something decent until I upgrade to a really nice set of Alpine's in my car. Now that can run you some $$$$$. But I would suggest checking out crutchfield. Lots of good deals and I think free shipping over $100 or something like that.sigpic

I own an alpine and i don't like it as much as i did my pioneer. I loved my pioneer because it had much more adjustments that it could make, that and it's pre-out power is usually more than alpines. Alpines are nice don't get me wrong, but if i buy another head unit it will be a pioneer.sigpic

Thanks dudes!
I think I'm gonna end up going with one of the following Pioneer models:
5100UB
5900IB
590IB
As if that wasn't difficult enough, I also have to figure out speakers.... ugh! Mikeypoo's gonna help with that - thank goodness!
Once again, I just want plain ol' speakers that will play music just as well as the stock ones --- only I want all 6 to work.
