I'm running the Edelbrock Signature valve covers on my '79.

Going back to the air filter, when I was getting the engine set up in mine, I was working out an air filter top that had air flow through it, then about a week later, here came K&N with the top already made. Imagine my.....frustration. At first, I was running a K&N filter, till the motor sucked the oil out of it after a good pull at Detroit Dragway (cam has like .570" lift to it), so I just went with paper and reinforced the backside of it.

Anyway, I believe the top is about $45 through Summit if I remember correctly. I didn't end up getting one, just cause I was pissed about being one-up'd, but the idea of the max amount of air to the carb, well, that's a good one, of course being that this was roughly 13 years ago, I'm over it.
