  • Desperately need a dash pad ASAP

Well, I was walking out of the paint booth and tripped. Dash pad went slamming into the ground. I'm going to glue it back together and hope it looks ok enough at the car show Saturday, but I desperately need a dash pad now. 93-96 interior, if anyone has one or knows of one for cheap, let me know.

yeah, I had it out infront of me pushing the plastic of the "paint cube" out of the way when I tripped on the plastic and fell forward, slamming the edge of the dash pad into the ground (left quite a mark in the cement, at that...) I'm going to buy some 5 minute epoxy tomorrow and cover the whole damn area with epoxy from the back, then try to sand the cracks down, fill them with putty, and paint again. hopefully it'll work for the car show.

not yet, it just happened about 10 minutes before I posted the thread, and then I had to leave for calc class. I'm going to 5 minute epoxy the back of it, sand it down and try fixing it for the car show atleast.

Might turn out alright. We'll see. I'll update in awhile. Main reason it didn't do more damage is that it actually landed on the side that already had a crack that I fixed... so the blunt of the force was right onto a thick layer of 5min epoxy under the pad, only place it cracked was in the really thin layer on the edge of the epoxy. I'm half tempted to epoxy the whole damn underside of the dashpad.

But, my dad's going to work on it today. I epoxied it together and unfortunately we didn't get it perfectly positioned (my dad was "holding the edge flat" on the top, but apparently he didn't know what he was doing because it's not smooth on the surface) so he's going to get the electric drill out with a sanding disk and sand the effer smooth. My thoughts are if I can get it looking good enough that it's not noticable, once it's in the car it's ideally not going to be taken out again for a LONG time, so I don't care as long as the cracks aren't so noticable.

I'll talk to my buddy he has a 95 Camaro that recently has had alot of bad luck . First he hit a tree with it and smashed the bumper and hood . Two day's ago he hit a dear witht he front of the car. The deer spun around and came into the driver window . He want's to just light the camaro on fire!!!!!!!!!! I think I can talk him into parting it out or selling the whole car for cheap. May take some time for me to do this however.
