  • Should i buy the F150??

alright well i am in need of a beater DD for winter and such. Ive wanted a s-10 or something along those lines, but one of my shop teachers has 1991 FORD F150 for sale. It was up for $750 but i talked him down to $450 cash, just liek i talked my car down $1100 just what i do lol. Its got the 300ci 4.9 stright-6 engine (its a ROCK, ive seen these engines beat to HELL and never break). Its a stick, the interior is in great condt. Mechanicaly its also in good condt. Outside its gray and rust. The frame is in ok condt. (at least no holes or weakspots there) I got a quote anf for PLPD its only $36 a month or $217 for 6 months. Overall its a great deal, but its a FORD, the one thing i swore id never own. I'll probley end up buying it. idk we'lll see.

    what do you think???

I think you won't get too many problems from the guys if you beat the hell out of it. . . Wreck it a few times before you start driving it, so we can have a good reason to laugh. . . lol

ya a ford truck is way different than a ford car... its about the only thing they can seem to do right i say go for it... thats a steal... and you wont feel to bad if you wreck it on an icy day...

          Ford trucks are terrible.

We had a ford 250 i think? 4wd one, we drove down the hill in our backyard and the side gas tank fell off.

ya but any truck will do that truck gas tanks are the worse... ive had chevy and dodge trucks do the same thing... chevy had the worst for gas tanks accutally ... they have them in the sides forever... iver heard horror stories of people getting t-boned and blowing the tank... they all have fixed them now... being that this is his shop teacher and not some stupid guy im sure he took care of it pretty decent.. but if your looking for a nice ride your never going to beat a chevy truck... fords and dodge are always stiffer than shit which is fine if your into 4x4 and muddin... all my redneck buddies call chevy trucks grandpa trucks because of it... still id rather have the nice ride and get the job done then have to take the beating all the time of a stiff truck.

Ford is the only truck I would ever think about buying besides maybe a GM. My bro has a 97' F150 and it runs solid as a rock, my dads business truck is an F250 an its got 160K on it and runs like it did out of the show room! I say go for it!

Its a truck. As long as you don't "Pimp it" you have no qualms with me. Just as long as you understand that it is a DD and not a show car or a pimped out ride than you should be just fine. We only rag on mustangs because they have no purpose except to keep assh*les from driving fbodies.

id get it. price is hard to beat.

but by the way GM trucks are far superior to ford and dodge. I would go so far to say that is above and beyond just my opinion and breeching factual.

You know my uncle bought a f150 new in '89. It had the 300 straight six in it. Ran it over 250k without a single problem. Sold it to his father in law about 4 years ago. Still runs it yet. Even though its a ford it would be a good buy. They run forever. one of the few good things ford's ever done.

That's a great deal, pickup trucks usually hold their value very well too, so you should be able to get something out of it when you sell it.

For that price you're really can't lose. I'd rather have a Chevy myself, but ended up with a Ford F150, too.

Alright well it looks like it a no go, b/c my moms being a ***** and can't reliaze that just b/c a truck doest have a good paint job and has some rust doest mean that its not realible. The truck is perfect mechanicaly, and even though im paying for every cent of it, buying it, registering it, insurancing it,
and gas. She said she wouldt put it under her name and thats the only way i could get it so im pissed

i found this a 1982 chevy sliverado in great condt apperance wise. 2wd, 305. auto, posi, $695. but its carbed and for abeater id rather not have a carbed car.
