  • WTB: T-Top Roof Clip w/Glass

I am looking to purchase T-Top conversion parts for the 1995 to 2002 year range Firebird or Camaro. Fiberglass Roof Panel color does not matter as it will be repainted.

I would prefer not to spend more than $350-$400.

I need everything required for a t-top conversion:

    T-Top Glass
    T-Top Brackets
    A-Pillar plastic pieces
    Weather stripping
    Headliner
    Roof Panel
    Nuts
    Bolts
    Seals
    Rear Bracket Covers
    Screws
T-Top Retaining bracket and bolt for trunk
    T-Top Center Bar and screws
    ect...

    Edit: Revised with new wishes.

    why cant it be pre-99?

just wondering, why do you want the whole clip? you dont need 1/2 of that stuff on the 'clip'. I can probably get you most the stuff you'll need in a week or two

To my understanding the T-Tops pre-99 had the dot matrix tinting instead of factory tinted glass, and i do not want the little dots.

I was looking for the complete clip so that i can have the roof welded on of I do not feel comfortable with my conversion job.

If i had to go with just the parts instead of the whole metal roof frame, then i wouldn't want to spend more than $350 to $400, since i can pick up a metal roof frame for about 150 locally.

i'm not an engineer but i dont think cutting off the whole roof is a good idea, going to be a ***** to line up and make it good.

I am not sure from an engineering standpoint either, but I do know that most body shops chop the roof off at the fender and quarter panel when they do a top conversion or just basically need to replace the roof from damage.

I tried to get a few shops to use the method of conversion that most guys do but none of them will budge. That is part of the reason I am going to try it my way (the way most f-body guys do it) first.

Ill tell ya right now, YOU WILL NOT WANT TO CUT THE WHOLE ROOF OFF... You can fab the T-TOP CANELS IN THE ROOF WITHOUT CUTTING THE HOLE ROOF OFF!!!!!!! JUST VERY TIME CUNSUMMING, AND YOU WILL NEED ALOT OF WELDING EXP.. FOR SURE AND BASIC CHASSIE ALINEMENT (BODY WISE)

Dave you definitely do not want to cut your whole roof off, your car will never be as solid again.

The dot matrix tops i believe were only a 1993 thing. My 95 does not have dot matrix ttops.

Jon did a t-top conversion on his z28 and it was a piece of cake.

Just because a body shop refuses to do anything out of the norm for THEM doesnt mean that you should let them hack the car up to do it their way. Do it right or not at all IMO. Its really not that hard either.

Ok, I decided to go with just the stuff needed for the conversion, without the metal roof frame.

I also did some more research and found out that the Dot Matrix tinting was a 1993 to 1994 thing on the doner t-tops could come from a car as old as 1995.

I have updated my WTB request in the first post.

                    Too risky for me.
I'd wouldn't mind a Targa top conversion on my Z though.

I would like to get a few more options available just in case the guy that Adam is giving my number doesn't call.

Yes I see my twin... You are quite envious of my t-tops Muwhahaha!

Darn I saw a kit on FTV6 a few days ago but I guess it sold. I'll keep an eye out. Seems like FTV6, FirebirdV6, and LS1tech are your best options unless Adam can work his magic.

The targa top thing is a cool idea. I think I saw a guy on 3rdgen.org that did that to his bird and it came out well. I guess it was a throwback to some forgotten TV show. Also there was a guy on LS1tech who did it to his Z06...

                          http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showth...ighlight=targa

                          A Camaro...

So it can be done! You would probably have to do some custom fab work.

Yeah, I sat in a Trans Am with t-Tops on it over the winter and I fell completely in love with the t-top conversion.

Then I got my stimulus check and my first thought was, "T-Top time..."
