Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
Started looking, in case anybody knows of a nice one for sale. Looking sort of for spring, but if something nice pops up, willing to step up sooner.
It can't be silver and prefer not to be black, but will look at something nice. Stock or lightly modified (H,C,I)
My 99Z28 vert will probably hit the market in the spring. A trade of my car and cash would work nicely too

The more I look, the more confused I get. The way people price their cars is crazy. All over the place. Dealer prices for used ones are actually more reasonable because for the most part they have to stick to KBB pricing. Some private owners are on crack, I swear. I really like the C5 Z06's, their prices are coming up a little, the C6 Z06's are coming down but they need to get the valve guide issue taken care of and it costs about $2-2.5k to get done. Then there's the plain C6's. Some really nice ones for decent prices but then there's the $800 to get them shipped here. But it is fun looking again. Haven't looked for a car seriously for almost 10 years now.
I have been looking a bit over the past few months, and I do agree with a large number of private party cars being wildly off on asking price. But I do think the c6z can be a good value, i be you could get one in the high $20k's and i think a good number have had the valve guide issue sorted. The z06 doesn't seem to be any more than a c6gs. I personally dont think I could get a non-widebody C6 and be happy with it haha

Just for my general automotive education...what is the "valve guide issue", and what engines are effected?
It is accelerated wear of the valve guides on the LS7 only. I think its fixed permanently with valve guides of a different material. I think bronze is what they go to, and stock is powdered metal. The ls7 had the issue because the valve angle is steeper compared to the rest of the LS motors.

went and looked at a 2002 C5Z yesterday. 10k miles, original owner. obviously a nice car (yellow), but it still has original tires on it, hasn't had the valve springs changed (a breaking problem with the yellow springs), would need all the fluids changed, and would need the ignition lock issue addressed. So $2500 to get it road worthy, and he wants $25k. Don't think so. Car is all stock with a Corsa axle back exhaust but comes with the original Ti exhaust that was taken off when the car was new. Thinking of offering him $19 and see what he says.
Sounds like you know your Corvettes Don. Lay it out for the guy, and see what he says. Does sound like the sort of nice, clean, low mileage ride you'd want though.
When I mentioned it needed tires he said they were in great shape. Who would consider using 15 year old tires on a car that's capable of 180mph. Obviously not a "car guy"
