Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Yep I am looking for a front bumped to fix my poor firebirds nose.
Here is what the bumper looks like now.
I am going to have my body shop re-paint the bumper. So if anyone knows where I can find one that would be great! Plus does anyone know how much a new bumper will cost me???
Thanks for the help guys!!!

Birds can fly what can camaro's do????
They have bumper fix goo that works great. I used it on my front bumper. For mine I had to take off the bumer, ruff the area is 80 grit, clean the area, mix the epoxy, apply, and install a piece of aluminum behind the crack to keep the bond strong.
Silver is a hard color to match, I would have them spot the area so they don't have to paint the whole panel.
If possible I would try and have it repaired without pulling the bumper. I can't see the extent of the damage but you should be ble to fix it front the bottom were a few plastic panels come off.
I didn't do anything, The car was parked in the work parking lot in the back of the lot none the less and what I think it that someone happened someone with a toe hitch ran into my car and made a hole in my bumper. Alright to get the hole patched anyone know how much that could run me??? I am just trying to get an idea how much this is all going to coast me.

Not sure how much It would cost, take it somewhere for an estimate. But I can just about promise you it would be cheaper than a newone.
That's what I was trying to say. Fiberglass is fiberglass is fiberglass. I think someone should be able to do some thin coats of fiberglass over it and make it work, but her body shop guy said that because it's cracked all the way through the bumper that he needs a new bumper, he doesn't want to patch it. I'm figuring a new bumper is going to be in the $200-$300 range.

I wouldn't suggest using fiberglass on a plastic bumper. fiberglass drys hard and does not flex well. The plastic fix I was talking about has some give to it.
Its hard to say how much it will cost, it really depends on how you want it and fixed and how well do you want it repaired.
Here is short break down on how you can spend your money?
1. new bumper plus paint and instalation
2. fix area as best as you car while on car, and spot the area
3. remove bumper and fix area from both sides if needed, paint and re install.
If it were my personal car I would do number two and I would think it would run about $300~

After jeff's mom ran my car down with her trailblazer(trailer hitch) while we were at Taco bell, and punched a nice sized hole right on the corner of my right rear corner of my bumper cover. He hooked me up with our friend Mario's(Brian knows him from high school) uncle who owns a body shop. Got it repainted and patched for $200.00 out the door. You would never know it was hit unless I told you. Great work at a VERY good price to.

Haha I got quoted ATLEAST $800.00 to get my rear bumper replaced and painted at a body shop.
And my hole was all the way threw the bumper cover(you could see the actual black bumper on the inside).

$800 doesn't shock me if they were using GM parts. When you compare GM parts with aftermarket parts you can tell a big difference and most parts. Many of our customer ask why we are so expensive , and we try to explain, we want to keep a good reputation for quality work and we don't use aftermarket parts.
A few years back I got in an accident with my s-10 and I demanded they install all GM parts back on it because I was paying the premium for full coverage. Well because of the higher cost they totaled the truck. what a relieve.
there is a great little family owned maaco on 8 mile road in farmington that quoted me 160$ to repaint a bumper.. im not sure how metallic would come out, but they did a far better job than the other 3 body shops ive been to, so its worth a shot.
i dont have any before or after pictures but they redid my quarter panel for 600 bucks when everyone else was asking 1200-1500, and it looks literally perfect.

D'oh, I thought the front bumpers were fiberglass. Then yeah, in that case, plastic is plastic is plastic and should be fixable.
