Shop in states where there are strict emissions & inspection laws. Cars that need (expensive) work to make the cut sell for cheap.

Why does it have to be a 1997? Short answer: cuz I'm already planning on doing A LOT of work and I don't want to have to do the extra work necessary to swap in the instrument panel from the 1997, plus with factory twin cats it is easier to get a true dual exhaust approved in emissions states. There are a couple other reasons, but those are the main two. I wanted an SS hardtop, but considering the low production numbers I don't think I'll be finding one blown up or stripped anytime soon. If I find a B4C I'll pounce on it, but I'll take a Z if I find a roller. As long as it is a hardtop (NO T-TOPS!). I'd like to avoid water- and fire-damaged cars due to the wiring nightmare, but if anybody sees a flooded or fried 97 SS hardtop for under 1500 do whatever you have to do to get a hold of me asap cuz I want it! Thanx for any help, you guys are great!
