  • WTB: 2000 Trans Am Rear End

Looking for a rear end that will be a direct fit into a 2000 Trans Am with an automatic tranny. Anyone have anything?? I'm also looking for someone to help install. So if you have it, and are willing to help install for some pizza and pop/beer let me know.

I'm hoping to have one soon, mine to swap out and sell. How much are you looking to spend?

i have a rear end with 3.23s out of an 02 Anniversary SS with 11k miles, it has the sensors at the wheels, this is what you need correct? im looking for 225 for it.. it is in great shape for a rear end with very little rust.

BTW: I'm possibly willing to work out a deal to give the 3.73 gears and screw-type locker in on the deal. Just have to work out details...

pm me if your interested in the rear that I have, it is just sitting in our barn right now, price might be negotiable, i would take the 3.73s but im looking for a complete rear to swap into my bird but my bird has a 3channel right now (that is why i need to get rid of the 4 channel I bought lol)

if it has TCS it is 4 channel. otherwise its 3 channel. I think they make a jumper harness to allow you to use a 4 channel in a 3 channel car now though

It has TCS so this rear end will work then??

Redfbird, would you be willing to help with the swap??

yes it was a tcs abs car, it is just that the sensors are at the ends of the rear end where as my sixer only has one on the pumpkin(three channel) so it wont work on my car. I would try and help but I honestly dont know that much about swapping rear ends, and im just too busy with college and work. My brother and dad swapped one into my bros and it sure didnt seem like a hard task at all. Id also like to mention you would need to use your brakes on this rear end because it didnt come with any. That shouldnt be a problem though because you could just take the brakes off the rear end that is currently on her car. I mistakenly bought it last fall from EAD performance you may have heard of them, they are located on the east side and are an ls1tech sponsor.

i can get you pics tommarrow if you want, i have pics of when we had the cover off and then some of when its back on. we just put some fresh gear oil in it too. too late for tonight though

Please get me pics. This may just pan out. Let me check around into seeing who could help with the swap though.

couldnt get your email so here are some pics, ill be back later tonight again, we had this rear apart to put the posi into my bird but it wouldnt work because its the wrong channel, we then greased everything up and put it back together with some new gear oil.
