    I came across your information on-line and wanted to see if you might have interest in learning more about a Product Engineer position I am recruiting for in our thermal products group plant in Rochester Hills, MI. This role is responsible for quoting, developing and maintaining a high quality heat transfer product with emphasis on continuous improvement, and to respond to customer or in-house production personnel concerns in a timely effective manner.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Job Title: Product Engineer
    Department: Engineering
    Reports To: Product Engineering Manager
    Status: Salaried with approved overtime
    Supervises: None

    JOB SUMMARY:
    To quote, develop and maintain a high quality heat transfer product with emphasis on continuous improvement and to respond to customer or in-house production personnel concerns in a timely effective manner.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Quote, develop and maintain a high quality heat transfer product.
    • Program management for new products from concept to production launch.
    • Serve as main customer engineering liaison.
    • Work with suppliers, manufacturing and commercial personnel.
    • Manage building and testing of prototypes.
    • Perform other duties as assigned or required.


    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
    • Interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
    • Preferred experience in the following areas:
    o Brazing related experience.
    o Knowledge of TS16949 Program
    o Knowledge of IMDS
    o Cellular mfg. Concepts, KAN-BAN concepts.
    o Direct contact with customers and suppliers
    o Project management: ability to write and understand the need and purpose of FMEA’s, control plans, work standards, PPAP submissions, etc.
    o Computer experience – such as Excel and Word.
    o Blueprint reading, GD&T, heat transfer/fluid systems, machining and gauging knowledge.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    • Light duty lifting
