Hey All,
I have a vortec 350 for sale that came out of a 99 Suburban. I bought the engine so I could build a stout motor for my 84. Since I picked up the 77 I decided to build the pontiac 400 engine instead, so I no longer need this 350.
I will give as much detail as possible, and I will sell to anyone here for what I bought it all for (which was $175).
I bought this engine from a friend of mine, he's a mechanic and was starting to build this engine for one of his trucks. I asked him if he had any 350's for sale and he told me about this one. it was pulled from a 99 suburban because of a spun rod bearing. he started rebuilding the heads and that's when I bought it.
I'm not going to lie, I don't really know much about building engines or what to look for, but the machine shop I had the engine at said from looking everything over that it was a solid starting point, they didn't magnaflux or anything like that so I can't give any more detail on the engine besides the obvious. I can only go off what my friend said on this stuff, with that being said, it would probably be a good thing to have everything looked over again regardless. I will get pics of the engine asap, currently all I have is pics of the heads. I've seen heads alone go for anywhere between $100-$150 so for the whole setup I don't think that $175 would be out of the question.
Details:
Engine has heads pulled for rebuild. lower end all still intact.
- 1999 Vortec 350 - no machine work ever done to it. (080 Casting)
- Has a spun rod bearing, but other than that the engine looks good.
- Has the 062 vortec heads
- one head is partially rebuilt, other head has nothing done to it.
- comes with flexplate and stock TBI intake manifold
