I am being cautious because I already bought the wrong speakers once, dont want to do it again.

Yes, they are aftermarket and they do not use the factory connector. Not plug and play

My understand is that if you're using the monsoon amplifier, only certain speakers will work. Something to do with certain ohm speakers, I think. That happened with Angie's car when we replaced her speakers. Rear speakers wouldn't work at all. We said F it and disabled the monsoon amplifier all together.

All you have to do for an easy fix to make any rear speakers work is just find the wiring diagram for the monsoon amplifier, cut the input and output wires that are for the rear speakers and then splice the wires together - bypassing the amplifier. Then you don't have to worry about fishing wire through the car.

That's rather confusing why would a specific amp restrict the type of speaker you can use? Wouldnt it all be in the wiring of said amp and speaker?

Also there are no aftermarket speakers that I know that are plug and play to a factory system, you would usually have to buy the pig tails or solder wires in.

I bought regular delco speakers and my car has the monsoon system.

The plug that my car has in the doors is different than the delco speakers I bought.

I beleive its 2 ohm vs 4 ohm. Also the fronts of the monsoon cars have a built in tweeter.

That may be true the 2 ohm vs 4 ohm thing, but then aftermarket speakers wouldnt be plug and play into your factory system. So the speakers brian has here will not have something that will "plug" into your car. You would have to cut the plug and solder the wires in.

Yeah, unless you're buying the same crappy factory monsoon speakers, your best bet is to get some quality aftermarket speakers and splice them in and bypass the amp.. It'll sound much better.

You won't really get much of in improvement with the factory head unit. Crap in is crap out. You won't need to pair that with an aftermarket amp, but it would make a massive difference at higher volumes.

Sorry to be a pain in the ass but do the blue speakers have 4 connections? It looks like they have the mid and then tweeters in the middle. I'm thinking these are what I need. How much to ship them to 48813?
