  • Free: 4th gen rear Decarbons & used (still good) front & rear rotors/pads

So, as I have upgraded my SS, I have the following that will be put in the trash this week unless someone wants them:

    - pair of rear decarbons, in great shape (well, as far as decarbons go). Came off easily, shock piston moves well, shock body is in good shape with no corrosion.

    - full set of rotors and pads. Pads have a ton of life left (I actually think the dealer may have put these on before I bought it). Rotors are in decent shape. Fronts seem a little "grabby" and lightly warped. Still completely usable if you're on a budget.

None of this stuff is really "upgrade" material, but if someone's in a tough spot or on a budget, this stuff is usable.

so, rotors and pads on the passenger front took a bath in coolant yesterday (don't ask). Not sure if I'd want to use those pads, but the rotors would be fine if you just hit them with brake clean.

if you're interested, they are yours. They'll be in the trash this Wed if nobody wants them/gets them

If nobody else takes the rotors, I'll pick them up and we can put them on the classifieds as a fundraiser for the site. Everyone needs them eventually, if they don't upgrade to something bigger.

The pads should probably get recycled at this point. If you don't have recycling, I do -- give them to me and I'll take them to SOCRRA with my other stuff on the next trip. Same with the shocks -- although someday, some restorer will cry over the opportunity to have original deCarbons for his Bloomington Gold restoration!

Bob, Atrus is in Macomb Township, but I'm in Ferndale and he and I both work in the same building. I also have friends in Dearborn that I visit fairly often, so if you want, it may be easier to arrange to get them from me. Let me know if you want me to get them from Atrus and then set up a time for you and me to hand off the parts.

Awesome, I'll get them over to Kevin.

Kevin - when's a good day for you? If you'd be willing to recycle the pads, that'd be great too (unless Bob wants them). I don't have any facility here when I can dispose of pads.

Come to think of it, I also have the OE water pump. It was starting to weep, so I replaced it yesterday. Ordered online, so I have no core on it.

I will be in tomorrow, Kevin, so that would be good. I'll be in Tuesday afternoon, and then back for the rest of the week. I'll take the pads and pump for recycling too. Will probably just fit it all in the vert between the trunk and fold down rear seat. The Malibu is a lease car, so I don't want to risk a giant out-ding on the rear quarter if something should go wrong!

Sweet, thanks! I'll be in the Ren Cen for the morning, but should be back out in Warren somewhere around 11ish. Anytime after that works for me.

                        Thanks, Kevin!

The Beast is riding about 1/4" lower in the rear due to the 100lbs of assorted used F-body metal that now reside in the back seat! 20 second lowering kit!

Thanks to you, Kevin! Never knew that deCarbons could help lower your car!

Bob, I'll PM you to see what we can set up to get this stuff out of my car!
