She is a cast model. Still made 1050 wheel on the (at one time) the U.S record BMW M3. Worked really for my car as well. I feel the billet wheel stuff is a gimmick to sell more expensive wheels more than anything to be honest. Why couldnt they just cast the wheel the same trim/shape as the billet one? Because they say billet and people are willing to pay more. People dont realize that all old turbos were billet wheel before casting technology became efficient enough to mass produce them.

Not poo pooing on anybodys billet wheels but I feel like they are more of a sales pitch then anything. If I had the $ I would have probably put a billet wheel back in it but why spend the extra $ when all in all its not necessary IMO.

A billet wheel is much less about the number of blades or shape and more about I holding its shape and not deflecting at high rpm like a cast piece does. Good luck on the sale Matt.

This ^. They just made another 250RWHP with a billet wheel vs a cast wheel with the gate pinned shut on an S480. Do I think you need one? No. Do I think they are more than just a sale pitch. Yes.

The flexing of it is a good point but I dont know if that bothers me enough to pay that much extra for one. 250 extra hp is alot more air for sure but I am not sure if it is from the compressor wheel staying true or just a better design compressor wheel making the extra push. I could definatley see if you were really maxing the turbo out the distortion could and probably would be the issue but for normal people who push moderate boost levels I dont even think you would notice it.

Maybe notice a BB turbo on spool time I would think but again its really expensive.

Valid points, cost is always a factor and if your not pushing the turbo to its limits a cast wheel is perfectly fine.
