Yikes, was interested in the hood until I saw it was over 3 times what I was looking to spend... GLWS in any case.

i used to have one ended up selling for $550 autographed my a GM performance crew and the desighners "this hood desighn was made in michigan" was told it was last 35th hood produced. car got parted out apparently lol
i know u can sell them for $1000 sometimes $1500 but not many people have that kinda money to spend on a hood
"i had to sell my hood in order to buy my first ws6 thats why i sold so cheap"

are you selling the complete nitrous kit anychance?

        glws man.

Can one of the local Firebird experts tell me what a "35th Anniversary" hood is in Pontiac parlance?

The 35th anniversary for the F-Body was in 2002, and the Camaro had the SS 35th Anniversary Edition, but I thought the special 2002 Firebird was the CETA (Collector Edition Trans Am) in yellow with special black striping?

I'm basically a Camaro guy with an interest in Firebirds, but to me this looks like the paint and striping scheme on a 30th Anniversary Trans Am hood from 1999...

True - 30th anniversary TA, not 35th. Easy mistake to make - I do it all the time.

Ok thanks for the info guys! I did not know that. Like I said in the starting post, I have no idea what these go for so make me n offer, the worst I can do is respectively decline.

I am kinda shocked a functioning ram air ws6 hood would sell for so little, especially in excellent shape!

Its just a LS WS6 hood... They made ~30,000 of them... Unless you find someone that has a 30th ann with a ****ed up hood, its not worth much... VFN hoods are only ~$500.

I was recently at the Trans Am Nationals where a guy had three WS6 hoods two where priced in the same range as yours and one was priced at $550 because it wasn't "factory"....He sold the cheap one and loaded the other two back on his truck.........

My point: If you really need to sell it, you'll probably have to settle for less than you're hoping for. With how similiar the aftermarket hoods look, it's hard for people justify spending 3 times as much for a "factory" hood.

If you're in no hurry to sell it then you may be able to get more, but it's going to take the right person, at the exact right time to get $1500.

Not trying to load up on Jon, but I'm not sure why an "anniversary" hood would pull additional money, unless it were perfectly factory mint and the prospective buyer had a cherry 30th Anniversary T/A with a bad hood. The only thing that differentiates it is the paint job and the striping -- a trip to Painters Supply and an order to Phoenix Graphics would turn any WS6 hood into an "anniversary" hood.

I'm guessing that $600 to $650 might be more in the starting range, and that would give you some wiggle room to come down to a transaction price of $550. That's about what I paid for my factory Camaro SS hood that needed a repaint, but was otherwise in great shape.

But as a caveat -- I pay much more attention to the Camaros, just because that's what I own. Listen to the Firebird guys like Scott and Jeff for guidance, because that's their area of expertise.

What have these hoods been going for on LS1Tech.com lately?
