You have to keep in mind, however, that I'm not going to be doing too much crazy stuff with this computer. It's going to be used for file storage, maintaining financial records, editing videos and photos, checking email, and maintaining a couple of websites. I really don't need anything too powerful. Heck, I'm thinking at this point that I may be better off buying a used quad-core Intel desktop, upgrading the video card and adding another, and just running things that way. I've never messed with a dual-video card setup before, so I really have no idea what I need to watch out for in a computer, but I'm pretty sure that there are a few options out there as far as an off-the-shelf Dell or Gateway or something that can handle a second video card and still offer respectable performance.

You dont need and will never use a dual video card setup, dont waste your money.

Just get a nice ATI video card. I run a single Radeon HD6870 at it will run 3 or 4 high res displays

x2, any of the new 6 series cards are great, and so much cheaper than the new Nvidia cards. Ill probably pickup a pair of 6970's next time I upgrade.

Twins require a stout power supply though, keep that in mind! 600watt minimum I'd say with strong rail ratings, 800 or more if you want to OC. I have a i5 that runs 4ghz on all 4 cores when it needs it, dials back to 1.6 at idle. Super low power consumption, stays quiet with the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO. 8 gigs of ram is plenty and my 60gig SSD for the OS/main apps and 1 tb for storage makes for a happy, snappy system!

Acer is still available, make an offer. Currently running Ubuntu, but it's too easy to install Windows. Insert disk, follow on-screen prompts, and in half an hour, you have Windows. lol

Looking to get my MacBook fixed soon, then I can start on my desktop build.
