255/50/16 MT ET street radials on chrome 5 spokes

I also have a set of 28x10.5 stiff wall slicks here as well and let me assure you these tires are a MUCH stiffer wall, remember these are a dot legal street radial tire. I would say you can fit a 275 tire on a 8" wheel just fine but that is about the limit.

ok thats what I figured as far as size goes. I wasn't sure if a drag radial/slick ended up fitting a little wider then a traditional 275 street tire would as I know a 275 is probably the max for a 8 incher. Hmmm maybe I heard wrong about the tires being a soft wrinkle style wall. Thought this leaned more on the "slick" end of the spectrum verses on the traditional "drag radial" side even though I know its categorized as DOT drag radial. Thanks for the good info

These are Mickey Thompsons Drag Radials (called ET Street Radial)l. they are not the ET Streets that you are thinking of that are close to a slick with some slits in the tire making it DOT, that is the ET Street. this is a seperate tire all together then what you're thinking of

these are the only tires I've driven on for the last few years so I put street time on them as well (not this pair in particular) and I would say you could probably get 5-7K out of them at best. Post a link to the tires you are thinking about please I'm afraid somewhere along the line somebody may have confused you about these tires. We can help clear the air.

I'm not looking for any other wheels at the moment just going to drive around on the drag setup I don't put many miles on my car at all these days.

You're making me dizzy! to the best of what I think you're talking about. The larger (wider) MT ET Radials have a different tread design then these ones. those are the tires you think "look like an NT555r" while the tread pattern is different, It's the same tire/compound blablabla..... They will not last you very long on the street. especially if you're just daily driving and putting heat cycles in them for no reason.

Thus the reason for a set of wheels/tires like this. Plop these *****es on for the track. and save the summer tires for the street.

Et street II is what he is taking about. Little better if you get caught in the wet. But still scary

These are the ones I meant. sorry I would have just posted a link last night but was just too lazy. Like I said they appear to be very similar to the Nitto's or BFG's I'd say and appear to have a similar wear rating with just being a tad softer then the Nitto's from what I heard. I've heard Nitto owners achieving pretty decent milage out of their set's if just daily driven and not "heated up" on the street but someone may have better 1st hand experience on here and say different.

The tire you just linked to is the ET Street Radial 2. Same exact compound as the original ET Street Radials. Only difference is the tread pattern.

ET street wont last 1/2 as long as a Nitto either. But a Nitto doesn't even perform close to an ET street in the traction department...

I have around 22-25k on my nittos and they are bald. Et street will be lucky to get 10
The nittos are fine in rain. The ET's will be scary even when new. Not a good DD tire

ok cool so same compound rubber but just a different tread pattern. Thanks for clearing the air. Maybe I'll just stick with a set of Nitto's and be done with it. God its hard finding a 315/35/17 tire that looks good yet still performs good too on the ZR1 rim!
