  • FS: 10bolt with 3.42s

found a rear on ls1tech that i cant pass up the deal on. pms are being exchanged right now and im hoping to meet this guy saturday (12th) in Indiana. so im putting this up to hopfully spark interest in my rear to recoupe some money. stock 10bolt from my 96z28. car has abs and trac control. the mileage on the rear is 137k with no whines or noises at all. never seen a sticky tire. this is a great upgrade for auto guys running real low gears. would not come with brakes i would need those for the rear im buying.

looking for $225 obo. and mind you this prob wont be off my car til sat or sunday this week if all goes to plan.

Good deal on a 10 bolt, not a bad idea for someone with a 3rd gen to pick up who might not have Posi and who has shitty gears!

Great deal. My bolt on Auto car felt pretty good with 3.42 gears. Can't beat that for the price considering you could turn around and sell your 2.73 or 3.23 rear for close to the same!

They usually start off at more, but I have seen them way less as well. If I know Fred he's willing to deal as well. I'd pick it up at your asking price (maybe) if I still had my thirdgen!

I'm interested, would be a good upgrade for my 92. I have to do a little research though, I think I'd need a new break booster, and possibly drive shaft? Other than that it would just bolt in right?

Would be a great upgrade for your 92 and I believe it just bolts right in, no swapping drivesahfts or anything like that. It is however 2 inches wider on each side so it does change the stance a little unless you run a 4th gen style wheel. Wheels can be tricky when changing rears, but it is well worth it in a third gen. You would love the 3.42 gears alone!

I have 87 IROC wheels for summer tires and ARE wheels for winter tires. I looked up my gears at one time a while ago and I think they're like 2.24 or something like that, and I'd like the posi. This is probably a stupid question but is it a disk or drum setup? I just bought an Optima Yellow Top today and I'm going to need to buy summer tires (in the next couple weeks hopefully!) so I'll see if I'll have enough extra cash when I deposit my paycheck.

You may need spacers to run thirdgen wheels or they might just stick out a little further (2inches) You probably have 2.73 gears in your car with a open diff. Its a good buy for sure and nice upgrade to your car.

Is there any reason I couldn't put my drums on it until I decide to upgrade to disks?
