Well since every car I see now has an LS engine of some sort in it, I have been thinking I dont want to put one in mine. I have been thinking of selling the 6.0 I bought. I paid $700 for it. I would like to get my money back out of it. I have no harness or coils for it. I have a new passenger car water pump I will sell with it. let me know if anyone is interested.

Do you know what year? Iron or aluminum heads? What casting number? Any other accessories included? Pictures?

I think it is a 2005. It has 317 heads on it. No accessories. I have a passenger car water pump for it new in the box. Will need matching dampener and accessories.

Will have to discuss with the parents, sisters yukon could really use a new motor at 285,000 and I happen to know where they could get a 5.3 for it

Every where I look I see ls swaps. So I am going to redo and twin turbo my old 383. I may even put a modified tuned port on it to be differant.

Uh.... the page to view your photos is infected by the Rogue Fake Alert Malware.

Image Shack and Photobucket have the same issues with Virus malware advertisement on their site.

                        Few more questions,

Have the heads ever been off?

Why are the valve covers on the wrong sides?

When was this pulled? How long has it been since it ran?

                        What castings are the heads?

One head was pulled because the guy that owned the truck wanted to look at it. It was pulled in late june or early july. It was running and driving at that time. The heads are 317 castings. The valve covers are on the wrong sides because that is how they got set back on. I can change them around if you want.

Man this pisses me off, twice this week have I hit post quick reply and my post disappears into thin air.....

Was just curious on the heads as I see 2 bolts missing on the one side. I assume it was pulled after the motor was removed, so it needs a head gasket on that side?

How sure are you on the mileage? Not doubting you, just dont want to get screwed again. My 5.3 supposedly only has around 100k at this point, and the rings are shot, not very often do you find an ls motor with rings shot at as little as 100k..... My sisters yukon has 285k on it, and runs better than the motor in my car quite frankly.

                            Why was the engine removed?

The engine was removed because of cold piston slap. The owner wanted a new engine. I was tolt the new engine had the same colt piston slap. I have never heard the engine run so I don't know how bad it was.
