  • FS: 1 Pair of LT1 Tail Lamps -- Already sanded for Nightshading

Just like the title says, I've got a pair of LT1 tail lamps that I recently bought from MunsterZ28 here on MiFBody. I was going to convert my car to Nightshaded LT1 lamps,, but I've been looking at pics of red Camaros with a black Berger-style tail panel, and have decided that I like the amber turn lenses better.

They have already been sanded for Nightshading, although they have not been sprayed yet. They are with JoeliusZ28 right now, so you can either pay him to spray them for you, or I can deliver them to you and you can do your own shading. Joel warned me about some scratches in the plastic lenses that may still be visible once the lamps are shaded, but you might choose to sand a little more deeply into the plastic. I have priced these lamps accordingly.

If you have an LS1-era Camaro, please note that I am only selling the tail lamp units, I am not selling a wire harness with them.

    $40 and they are yours.

Kevin - here is a proposal for you: I need a set to practice a new formula on. I'll buy them and if they turn out good I will re-sell them to a member of the site for the same price I bought them for (donating my services). I'll also give you first chance at them in case you change your mind. This way there is no risk to you on being stuck with them if they dont turn out to your standards! If they don't turn out good, then the $40 was still worth it to me for the practice opportunity.

Nate - I don't have the tail lamps here, but I don't think they can be buffed back to an original-style finish. If you aren't going to Nightshade these, then you're likely not going to be completely happy with these.

Joel, that sounds like a great use for them. They are yours.

          Thanks for being honest.

I am adopting the "I want everyone to know its a LT1" mindset now.

Well, i have a set of LT1 tails that are still in good shape. I bought them off the forum with plans to night shade them. Depending on if we can all work this out, if Joel's nightshade job turns out good, i would like them for my car. SO, if nathan wanted to buy the tails off Joel, then i would gladly swap nate for the unmodified tails i have right now...

Side note: Joel, how were you planning on tinting them? I was looking for a set that was nightshaded, but with the reverse section taped off, and left clear, so that the reverse lights still shine bright, and then the blacked out section lines up with my Berger panel. If you had different plans, then what would you charge to tint mine as i have explained, so that they have a high gloss factory look when done?

            Thanks all.

Thats how i typically do my nightshading - here's a shot of the set on my car.

If you are looking to have a set done like that, I can hook you up.

That's perfect, so either i will work with the above guys, if Nate is loking for an unmolested set of tailights, as i like the smooth look better without the part number castings, and that tint job is really nice looking. As long as the scratches he was talking about came out, and there is no visible gouges in the lights. If they require too much sanding, then i would rather pay to have my set done so they are smooth as glass.

Thank you. That set was done with niteshade. I'm going to try a new formula on the set of lights I am getting from kevin that might conceal/fill the scratches better. Its an experiment but we'll see!

PS Kevin - did you want me to paypal you that $40?
