Hey Guys -- I have for sale a GM Factory SS Hood that came off of a 1998 SS vert in Indianapolis. It has damage to it, and being that I'm not a bodyman, it would cost me more to get it fixed professionally and paint it than it would for for me to just go find a different hood. The hood is not a piece of junk -- it's still a good solid piece to start from, it's just more money than I want to spend right now, and maybe some of you guys have the skills (or friends with the skills) to do the work for a lot less.
OK, so here's the nitty-gritty. The hood has two areas that need repairs. The area on the front left forward edge has been previously repaired, but seems to have been done well, and really just needs to have the repair seam V-ground and feathered to be aesthetically acceptable. The other repair area is more involved. A triangle of about 2.5"x6" was broken off the hood and missing. Evidently the guy I bought it from tried to bondo it up and conceal it. Not being an expert on these hoods, I failed to ask the right questions, and now that I've had a professional restoration shop do sme preliminary prep work in order to quote me a final price, it's just too rich for my blood right now.
I'll head back out to get photos of the hood and the trouble spots this afternoon, but I wanted to get this out here on MiFBody.com in case any of you guys with the skills are interested in it.
I might be able to take the hood somewhere else to get it done cheaper, but I chose this particular shop (MasterWorks in Madison Heights) because I trust them implicitly.
This hood is now officially a thorn in my side and I want it gone! Asking $300

for Master Works!
