What are you doing with the car? If you're strictly driving it on the street as a DD then I might agree with him. But if its a weekend / nice day car or you go to the strip often I would leave it.Originally posted by 99ls1 View PostI like the stall myself, but the guy building it says he can make it run better with a smaller stall he said if it was a straight strip car itd be fine but bein it sees the street smaller will be a better match for what hes doin. Its mainly just a cruiser goin to car shows street and strip racing. like to cruise around in it go up town. He said if i want it built to hold 600/700 horse without a problem to downsize the stall and hell stand behind it all the way and he says i will definatly be happy with it the way he sets it up

Is it running 600/700hp? if so he's right. If you only have basic bolt ons I'd keep the stall.Originally posted by 99ls1 View PostIts mainly just a cruiser goin to car shows street and strip racing. like to cruise around in it go up town. Your builder is correct but as mentioned at your power levels and the amount of drag racing you seem to do the Yank should be a better converter. If and when you start making 6-700 hp then you may want to upgrade to something heavy duty for sure. Hope that guys knows his stuff, there are only a handful of shops around the country that can build a 4l60E to handle that kind of power and make it last but it can be done.Doing less with more
