  • F/S Fresh ls1 engine with upgrades

I have a 1998 LS1 block out of a 1998 camaro z28 that had 38k on it and was wrecked. Bottom end was torn down by a local machine shop (to check the condition of it which was great still) and had all the bearings replaced (for my peace of mind since it was apart), ls6 oil pump installed, ls2 timing chain, ARP rod bolts. All upgrades done to improve the strength and ability of engine. Stock 98 cam. Rebuild finished 12/16/09. Again nothing was wrong with the engine before the rebuild, I just bought it off ebay and wanted to make sure everything was good for when I installed it in a project car.

Heads are off the engine at the moment but have been cleaned and checked and included along with new GM MLS head gaskets. Heads are perfect. Also have stock lifters, pushrods, etc. ready to go for it and included.

Intake, throttlebody and accessories not included. Most guys go with a ls6 intake for better flow. Great for a retro build or to replace a blown engine in a 4th gen Fbody.

Planned on finding a roller to put it into, but the new house changed those ideas.
    $1900 or best offer. Thanks.

P.S. Shipping would be on you to set up and pay for, would rather not ship due to size and weight.

Except that we're in the same boat - buying a house.

B you get a first time home buyer credit of 8k, no reason why you couldn't use some of it for the engine now.

10% of house value up to 8k. We bought our house so cheap we don't get the full 8k. But yeah, she'd still never let me do it.

IMO you're asking price is pretty steep, granted it has been freshened up. I don't know how much you have into it, but you may just want to keep it and use it.

If you want some advice....you are selling a LS1....LS1's have kinda run thier coarse. Your price is too high for what it is...even though it's been freshened up. I bet you could move it at $1000-1200 or more if you had the intake/acc. included. From a swap standpoint, if someone were to buy this they would nickle and dime themselves to death picking up the rest of the parts to complete it.
