  • Clean up ma yard sale ;)

So I have some things I want gone. These include:

305 Motor from pan to intake (Needs rebuild) came out of a late 70's Monte Carlo I think. $20

Stock 10 bolt out of my '97 has less than 100K on it. Complete with drum brakes and 3.08's and all! Needs cleaned up but is all there. $50

I will probably be adding to this list so stay tuned.

Fixed. Good, cheap deals. Good luck with the sale.

    Used to own a Firebird.

Not to sound like a total NOOB, but rear ends are one of those things I've never messed with. How compatible would this be with my 98's rear end? Mine has a vicious whining noise around 45-60 MPH, someone told me they thought the gears were worn. Would I be able to put these two together as a fix, when mine has disc brakes?

You could yes, but you would have to take the carrier out of his or the disk brakes off of yours, and guessing since yours has disks, it also should have a posi and 3.42s, while his is an open 3.08

            Thank you Sean!

As far as the compatibility with your car, the rear ends should be interchangeable. As far as your car having 3.42's that is unlikely unless it is a 5 speed or if you have a Y86 suspension handling package. If your car is a V6 auto it should have a economy highway gear installed even in the 98-02 model years. Either way it is just a good cheap rear end and for somebody who just needs a cheap alternative to keep their cars moving this would be ideal.
