In my case I'm hoping it's the ball. Angie bought a new ball and her ball hooks ever so slightly even though she's throwing it straight.

My wife bought that Tropical Storm (12 lbs.) and even she can hook it, but she only throws 7 mph. I throw around 19 to 17mph.

I'd love to find a bowling alley around here that gives the speed. All I know is when I throw the ball right, the pins just EXPLODE.

Most of the bowling alleys over by Ann Arbor show your bowling speed.

Trust me you can get your ball to hook just the way it is. If you throw it right and the release off your hand that ball will move no matter what kind of ball it is. Using two fingers (banana Bowling) is more for fun and not "real" bowling, although I know a few people who do it quite well and are constant bowling that way as well. But you can learn to throw a hook with your ball now but yes a "hooking" ball or one drilled with fingertips would be much better to learn on. Its all in the release...

It is hard to teach an old dog new tricks I guess. I have bought some of the best hooking bowling balls out there with basically the same results. Just bought a new Roto Grip Rouge Bowling ball at the end of the season last year hoping for better results, but still the same. It's the bowler not the ball. I still have fun though.
Thats odd rick I throw my ball anywhere from 15-19 MPH and can get the ball to hook like a son of a gun at any speed. The slower of course I throw it the more of a looping hook and the faster the more of a down and in shot. I am surprised with those balls that you cant get it took hook, without seeing you bowl I would assume its your release or the way you hold the ball...

It's just me? Long arms and a huge back swing. Don't stand behind me when I bowl!

haha very well could be, huge back swing wouldnt have anything to do with a hook, thats just you putting a lot of revs and speed on your ball.
