Looks like a glowshift pod. If it is, I have it on my car and I can say that fitment is pretty good.- Brian Meissen

I would like to have one, (they look cool) but i dunno what gauges i would put in it. What kind of guages would i put in a near stock car other than the ones that are already in the dash?? Air/Fuel Ratio is the only one i can think of.
Plus is it hard to run the wiring or whatever for the guages...never installed one before.sigpic

Glowshift it is..Originally posted by meissen View PostLooks like a glowshift pod. If it is, I have it on my car and I can say that fitment is pretty good.
I have Digital tach, Fuel pressure and Wideband.. You could go Fuel, water, oil, trans temp, voltage.. wide variety.. Depends on what you want to monitor. I am planning on moving up to a 150 shot and want to keep better tabs on fuel pressure and AFR.. Will have a narrowband to sell soon..Originally posted by 1qwikSS View PostI would like to have one, (they look cool) but i dunno what gauges i would put in it. Air/Fuel ratio, fuel pressure, trans temperature, oil temperature, vacuum... all good gauges to have.
I have trans temp, vacuum, and fuel pressure in my tripple pillar pod and then I have air/fuel in my radio bezel. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to put in my other spot - have an opening just don't know if I want oil temp or something else.
Fuel pressure is a great one to have though because you can be driving around and not realizing that you're starving the vehicle of fuel until it's to the point that it's throwing codes and you're really badly leaning the enigne out.
As for wiring - it's pretty easy if you go with electrical gauges. You'll have a sending unit that will plug into whatever - tap into the fuel rails, oil line, trans line, a wideband o2 sensor, etc. Then you just run 3-4 wires ... constant 12v, switched 12v, ground, sensor wire.
Edit: Larry totally beat me to the reply. That's what I get for watching Top Gear while replying.

Are there already places to tap into the line, or do i have to put some sort of connection/sensor into those lines (fuel, oil, whatever)Originally posted by meissen View PostAir/Fuel ratio, fuel pressure, trans temperature, oil temperature, vacuum... all good gauges to have.

I honestly don't know the answer to your question.. I wanted autometer from the beginning but didn't want to spend 60 plus shipping.. Got a deal on one today on tech so bought it.. I will know next week if there is a diff..sigpic

none of them match the interior perfectly, although if you have a black interior its much better. You can buy GM interior paint and make a perfect match, thats how mine is.Doing less with more
